Riding along the gentle rolling hills immediately above the city of Imola (where we will be passing many lovely villas) we will reach the sanctuary of Beata Vergine della Misericordia di Ghiandolino. The sanctuary houses the painting with the image of the Virgin Mary that was discovered in 1868. Continuing our journey, before ascending the climb of Prugno, we will also go through the town of Tossignano, a small cozy medieval village, stretched out on a rock spur overlooking the Santerno Valley.
